FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

1.       WHICH CLASS IS RIGHT FOR MY CHILD?

Our classes are divided up by age. Our Parent & Child classes are for children aged 2-3, Pre-School 3-4 and Recreational 4-16. You should look at our timetable HERE to find out which class time is most suitable for you.

2.       HOW DO I GET IN TO SQUAD?

There are two pathways into our squads. The first is they can be selected from our Pre-School and Recreational classes. The second route is via a trial. Trials are held every few months and will be advertised on social media (Instagram and Facebook).

3.       WILL MY CHILD ‘MOVE UP’ A CLASS EACH TERM?

No. Classes are sorted by age so the class as a whole will be getting older together. There is no moving up or down in Recreational classes.

4.       MY CHILD HASN’T DONE GYMNASTICS BEFORE DOES THAT MATTER?

Absolutely not! Our classes are for everyone. Even within a class our coaches can work to different levels with each gymnast according to their ability.

5.       HOW DO WE TRACK PROGRESS?

SAADI follow the National Gymnastics Awards Scheme. Each gymnast has their own book and during each session will work on core  ‘book skills’. When they pass them it will be recorded in the awards book. Medal’s are available at various stages of progress.

6.       I DON’T THINK MY CHILD IS BEING CHALLENGED ENOUGH?

Our Recreational classes are primarily a fun way to learn gymnastics. Whilst we aim to get the most from all our gymnasts we won’t be putting pressure on them to do so. If you feel that they are not being challenged enough you are welcome to trial for squad. If you have trialled for squad but been unsuccessful then you may need to consider whether SAADIO is the best club for you.

7.       WHY DO I HAVE TO PAY THE MEMBERSHIP FEES?

Our membership fees cover 3 areas: British Gymnastics Membership, County Membership, and a £5 admin fee for SAADI (the rest of the fee is VAT). Membership Fees are paid in September and last a year. Fees are not reduced pro-rata.

8.       IS THERE SOMEWHERE TO WATCH?

Yes, we have a viewing gallery with a café where you can watch from. We do not allow parents inside for Pre-School or Recreational classes for welfare reasons.

9. IS THERE CAR PARKING?

Yes, we have over 80 free car parking spaces at the club and plenty on the road outside.
