Every Gymnast Enjoys the Journey
Every child is different.
Some children simply want to learn exciting new skills, make friends and have fun each week. Others love competing and want to represent the club nationally. A small number dream of one day competing at the very highest levels of Women's Artistic Gymnastics.
At SAADI Gymnastics, we don't believe there is a "best" pathway—only the right pathway for each individual gymnast.
Our experienced coaching team continually assesses every gymnast's enjoyment, ability, commitment and long-term development to ensure they are training in the environment where they will thrive most.
Whether your child trains for one hour a week or many hours each week, every programme is designed to help them develop confidence, resilience, physical literacy and a lifelong love of gymnastics.
As they grow, opportunities will naturally arise for them to progress onto the next stage of their journey.
Recreational Programme
Our Recreational Programme is where most gymnasts begin their journey with SAADI Gymnastics.
Classes are designed to be fun, engaging and progressive, allowing children to learn new skills across all Olympic apparatus while making friends and building confidence. Gymnasts also take part in our exclusive Odyssey Awards Programme, providing regular goals, medals and certificates to celebrate their achievements.
Children demonstrating excellent potential may be invited to join our squad assessment pathway.
Novice
The perfect introduction to squad gymnastics.
Our Novice programme is designed for gymnasts who have demonstrated excellent potential within our Recreational Programme and are ready for an additional challenge.
Training introduces a more structured coaching environment while continuing to place enjoyment at the heart of every session. Gymnasts develop strong foundations in strength, flexibility, coordination and technical gymnastics skills across all apparatus.
This programme provides an ideal stepping stone towards competitive gymnastics.
Novice Plus
Accelerating development.
Novice Plus is for gymnasts who are progressing quickly and would benefit from additional training time.
Sessions build upon the foundations established in Novice, allowing gymnasts to develop greater physical preparation, confidence and technical consistency. Coaches begin preparing gymnasts for the demands of competitive gymnastics whilst ensuring every child develops at a pace appropriate to them.
Beginner
The first step into competitive gymnastics.
Our Beginner programme introduces gymnasts to a more structured competitive environment.
Training focuses on developing technically correct skills, improving strength and flexibility, and preparing gymnasts for their first competitions. Every gymnast continues to receive individual coaching, helping them build confidence while developing excellent habits that will support future progression.
Development
Building the foundations for future success.
The Development Programme is where talented young gymnasts begin to specialise and train with greater consistency.
Alongside technical development, gymnasts continue to improve their physical preparation, artistry, confidence and competition experience. During this stage our coaches carefully monitor each gymnast's progress to determine the pathway that will allow them to flourish.
From here, gymnasts may progress into either our General Artistic Squad or Women's Artistic (WAG) Squad.
General Artistic Squad
Competitive gymnastics with balance.
Our General Artistic pathway is designed for gymnasts who want to achieve an excellent competitive standard while maintaining a healthy balance alongside school, family life and other interests.
Gymnasts compete throughout the year at club, regional and national competitions, including the National Gymnastics League (NGL), while continuing to develop increasingly advanced skills.
For many families, this pathway provides the perfect balance between high-quality coaching, enjoyable competition experiences and long-term participation in the sport.
Women's Artistic (WAG) Squad
Pursuing performance gymnastics.
Our Women's Artistic (WAG) pathway is designed for gymnasts who demonstrate exceptional ability, commitment and the ambition to pursue performance gymnastics.
Training becomes increasingly specialised, focusing on technical excellence, physical preparation, artistry and competition performance. Gymnasts work towards regional and national Women's Artistic competitions, with programmes tailored to maximise each individual's potential.
Whilst this pathway requires greater commitment, our philosophy remains unchanged—every gymnast should continue to enjoy the journey as they strive towards their personal goals.
